Luxury Hillside Residence Integrated with Natural Sandstone and Site-Responsive Architecture
Turramurra Rock House is a luxury residential project designed to seamlessly integrate with the steep rocky landscape of Turramurra. Rather than reshaping the terrain, the design works with the site’s natural contours, using engineered concrete structures to support the terraced benching of the land. Natural sandstone excavated during construction was carefully repurposed into sculptural interior features and landscape elements, strengthening the connection between the home and its environment.
The residence features expansive glazing, dramatic architectural voids, and a floating glass-edge swimming pool that maximises natural light, captures surrounding views, and enhances the indoor-outdoor living experience. Combining contemporary luxury, sustainable material reuse, and site-responsive design, Turramurra Rock House demonstrates how modern architecture can create a refined yet grounded living environment that celebrates the character of the land and its natural surroundings.
